India is my birthplace and raised me for 23 years before I moved to USA. Growing up in India I was gifted with a rich heritage of natural skin care routines that I continue to practice to this day.
I love to bring together routines that nourish me inside and out. I do this routine most days to give my skin a healthy glow and to remind myself to celebrate the beauty we all have within.
I do this routine in front of a mirror; making sure to take these 5-10 minutes to connect with myself, to look into my own eyes, see myself, and acknowledge my inner beauty. It is a daily meditative practice that allows me to center, calm my mind and feel my gratitude and appreciation. It is often a time I receive insights and inspirations.
This is a 3 Step routine that is best done morning and evening.
(These are general guidelines that can be modified according to your skin type.)
- Before you begin, remove all makeup. Use ghee or an all-natural organic carrier oil a cotton ball and wipe gently. (Jojoba is good for all skin types, Sesame oil is good for dry skin, and Sunflower or Safflower oil is good for sensitive or oily skin.)
- Cleanse the face with a gentle facial wash then apply your facial oil. Neeta Naturals has created a Luxuriously Light Facial Oil for those with oily or combination skin and a Luxuriously Hydrating Facial Oil for those with dry or mature skin.
- Always apply facial oil on damp skin. The facial oil will lock in the moisture. You can mist your face with natural hydrosols or simply splash some water on your face. Remember that with oils, less is more. Massage the face and neck using a gentle stroke in an upward and outward direction using small circular motions. Be gentle! Do not scrub, or rub up and down the skin, avoid stretching the skin.
Always massage around eyes in a circular direction from the outside corner of the eye to the inside using the ring finger to ensure the gentlest touch.
Wait 2-3 minutes before applying makeup. It allows the skin to soak all the nutrition into the skin.
For added benefit use an exfoliation mask once a week to remove dead skin cells and allow for deeper penetration of the natural facial oils.
